Chitty goes to Monte-Carlo
Chitty goes to Monte-Carlo was a drive to the south of France in 2010, we embarked on a European adventure in Chitty via the port of Dover UK. From Calais we passed through Paris and headed to the Mediterranean coast. Our aim was to raise funds for our local Hospice on the Isle of Wight. Chitty Made it to Monte-Carlo drinking heaps of fuel and plenty of oil! Parking was not easy as most parking is underground as we really didn’t want to leave Chitty unattended. Fortunately Chitty stole the show and we were allowed to park alongside Bentleys and Rolls Royces in front of the famous casino. We drove to the harbour and we were greeted with open arms on the main jetty. Super yachts lined the harbour so we got into the spirit of things and popped a bottle of sparkling wine, My wife enjoyed a glass or two! and I settled for a coke. From Monte-Carlo we drove through the Camargue, and its amazing wildlife, with its wild horse and black bulls. Spain was next on the map after a challenging drive over the Pyrenees mountains. We returned to the UK via the Spanish port of Bilbao.
